Shiraz Rude Bwoy Lankan l Rest In Power

The First Rap Artist from Sri Lanka AND He is undoubtedly The one, The only Reggae, Dancehall Rapper in Sri Lanka...

It all started back in the mid-90s and eventually, his undying passion for music led him to take up music on a serious note, trying out his own vocal and lyrical style ( and that's a style that nobody dared to try at the time), his fluency in Sinhala, Tamil and English languages made him a true versatile rap artist with his own unique style blended with Patwa (Jamaican lingo) gave the Sri Lankan rap music fans a different flavor altogether, and this was the start of the journey of the first Sri Lankan rap artist and also the first reggae, dancehall rapper, shiraz rude bwoy,

it's more than fair to say that he was the only dancehall artist in the island and to just add one more to the first list,, he was the first and only rap artist who had released songs in all three languages,, with his fluency in Patwa made his entry into reggae music and its sub-genres. and he was a regular act on stage in almost all the reggae festivals in the island,, he even opened for international artists such as UB40 live in concert in Colombo and also Julian Marley concert back in the mid-2000s, countless number of times he has freestyled at various clubs around the world will vouch for his musical presence in the international arena,

Bambara padam, paraadiisaye, here im standing, Lankan lions were some of his breakthrough singles back then, apart from these solo singles, over the years he has featured for collaboration with so many local artists from different genres, when we talk about his collaborations we cannot forget the stint he had with Aruna Liyan and Alien works releasing so many singles in the 2000s .but its safe to say that the biggest of them all was wisekari a song he featured with Bachi Susan is a hot favorite of the masses even to date, its a big tune in Sri Lanka on radio, ringtone, outdoor concerts, not forgetting over million views on youtube speaks volumes for its popularity.

in the recent times he  put out few radical Sinhala tracks such as religion, salli, poor people, politikal, ihalin apu niyogaya and rangeda etc which talks about social and the political system in the country, He has featured on songs with international artists too, one with apache Indian is yet to be released and we are all waiting for its release

Simple and humble in his approach has earned him the respect from all his fans as well as the veteran artists in Sri Lanka, being the modest, down to earth person he was, always there to help the young upcoming rap artists in every possible way, when asked what advice he could give the upcoming artists in a recent interview he did on chakra tv, he mentioned that the discipline in everything you do is the key in any field,

he never went after fame and money through his music, it was purely the passion that he had for music that took him thus far in the music field in Sri Lanka, was residing in Australia He always keeps his fans waiting but it is usually worth the wait as He was a regular name on the yesfm homegrown show, putting out  tracks on the show every time he came back to the island,

it all came down to a halt as he bid farewell to all of us in April of 2022 at the famous Aragalaya site in the gall face Colombo, Collapsing after performing his fav track in his own style , But He was able to send out a powerful message even during his last few moments
